Paris Marashi is a graduate student at NYU’s ITP program where vlogging is taught as a regular class. She started to videoblog while home in Iran for the summer. As you can see in this video, she’s also started teaching videoblogging (with the help of Freevlog!). We are so excited to see Paris videoblogging life’s moments in Iran and even more so because she’s teaching others to videoblog as well. This is the perfect example of how we can begin to really connect with other cultures through personal media on the web. Check out her personal vlog- This Iranian American Life and her collaborative teaching blog Vlog In Iran.

Jennifer, creator of FLUSH TV wrote to us to say:
“Truth be told, I’ve been developing this show for years — and it actually was optioned by a production company who pitched it to a bunch of places(Discovery Channel, HGTV, TLC …). When push came to shove, no one signed on to buy it, the option ended and I hit a real wall. …. Until I was introduced to the world of vlogging and I saw a completely different way of distributing my show. Although I’m not making money from it (yet) it feels so great to be editing content with complete creative control vs. arguing with lawyers over who gets top billing.”
We’re glad it’s a Vlog and not a TV show! Thanks Jennifer!

Boy it’s been a slow summer over here at Freevlog! We really are cooking some new stuff up though. One thing we’ve been continuing to put a lot of time into is Have Money Will Vlog. It’s a site that helps to raise money for interesting videoblogging projects. The lastest project we’re working on is Ashley Hodson’s Sustainable Route (yes that’s Ryanne’s sister - she’s also a videoblogger). Ashley’s project is a four month road trip around the U.S. visting average people like ourselves who are working with their communities to define and work towards sustainability. And of course she’s going to document the whole thing, making a video for each place she visits. Oh, and if you of a place she should visit, you can add it the suggestion page.
So head on over to Have Money Will Vlog, check out the project and donate a few bucks. We’re already more than half way towards our goal of $2000.
